1997, rammed earth, sod, steel, iron, glass, 15’ x 17’ x 19’ This work was commissioned for the exhibit “Human Nature : Art and Landscape in Charleston and the Low Country,” Spoleto Festival USA, Charleston, South Carolina. I built an iron frame over and around the sod and steel form to mimic the wrought iron fences on all the antebellum mansions around the park. Rammed earth steps inside lead to a view of harbor between the roofs. This work had a duration of three months.
